Entry Architectural
Oakridge®
The value architectural shingle. Triple Layer Protection® and a genuine dimensional look, with a limited lifetime warranty. The right call on a rental, a flip, or when the budget is the constraint.
Oakridge, TruDefinition® Duration® and Duration FLEX® — three lines, one straight recommendation. Limited lifetime warranty, and up to 160 MPH wind resistance when the full system goes on.
A no-pressure assessment, a written estimate, and an honest answer on whether your roof needs replacing yet.
We are a Preferred Contractor, which means Owens Corning has vetted our licensing, insurance and workmanship — and it means we can register warranties in your name.
The Duration series has a woven reinforcing fabric in the nailing area. That is what allows the wind warranty to reach 160 MPH when the matching Owens Corning components and starter are used at eaves and rakes.
Duration FLEX carries the highest UL 2218 impact rating available. On a hail-corridor street that can matter for both roof life and your insurance premium — ask your agent what your carrier allows.
All three lines carry a 25-year StreakGuard® algae resistance warranty. It requires an approved Owens Corning hip and ridge product, which we install as part of the system.
Preferred Contractor status lets us register your warranty rather than leaving you to file it. We hand you the paperwork with your name already on it.
All three carry a limited lifetime warranty and share the same dimensions — 13 1/4″ x 39 3/8″ with a 5 5/8″ exposure. What changes is wind resistance, impact rating and how many colours you can choose from.

Core Architectural
The one we put on most homes. SureNail® Technology, Class 3 impact resistance, and the widest colour range of the three at fifteen. Best balance of price and performance.
Impact Resistant
SureNail plus a polymer-modified mat, giving the highest UL 2218 impact rating available: Class 4. Worth it if you have been hailed on before or your carrier offers an impact-resistant discount.
Not Sure Which?
Most homes do not need the top of the range. We will look at your roof, your exposure and your claim history, and give you a straight recommendation with both numbers in writing.
Book A Free InspectionNot every colour is offered in every line — the label under each swatch says which ones carry it. Availability also varies by region and changes over time.
Swatches are illustrative textures rendered from Owens Corning's published colour values, not colour-accurate samples. Screens differ, and shingle colour reads differently in Ohio overcast than in a brochure. Ask us for physical samples before you decide.
Owens Corning published data. Where a figure differs between the three lines, all three are shown.

Asphalt wins on upfront cost and on how many contractors can install it well. Where it loses is service life and hail. Here is the honest version.

Owens Corning figures are manufacturer-published. Service life and the stone coated and standing seam columns are industry typical ranges for comparison and vary by product line, deck condition and installation. The 160 mph wind figure applies when Owens Corning component requirements are met with starter shingles at both eaves and rakes.
Asphalt shows storm damage in specific ways — granule loss, bruising, creased tabs. We document what we find and give you a written scope you can hand to your insurer.
We photograph and document hail bruising, wind creasing and granule loss before you file, so you go into the claim with evidence rather than an argument.
Someone from KFX is on the roof with the adjuster to point out what we found. Your insurer sets the approved scope; our job is making sure the damage is visible and documented.
Policies commonly cover like-for-like replacement. Many homeowners put that toward steel and pay the upgrade difference. We'll show you both numbers side by side — what your policy covers is between you and your insurer.
Most Ohio carriers offer an impact-resistant roof discount for Class 4 rated materials, and some apply it for the life of the roof. The amount varies by carrier and policy, so ask your agent what yours allows before you sign anything — we'll supply the manufacturer's UL 2218 documentation they'll ask for.
Ask us for the paperworkKFX Roofing is a licensed roofing contractor, not a licensed public adjuster or insurance professional. We document storm damage and provide our repair scope and pricing to you and your insurer. We do not adjust, negotiate or settle insurance claims on your behalf, and nothing on this page is advice about your policy or coverage. Claim decisions rest with you and your insurance company.
No surprises and no vanishing crews. Here is how an Owens Corning asphalt job runs from first call to registered warranty.
We get on the roof, check deck, flashings, ventilation and existing damage, and take measurements. You get photos of everything we find.
A straight recommendation between Oakridge, Duration and Duration FLEX, physical colour samples at your house, and a firm written price for the whole system.
We pull the permit for your jurisdiction and order shingles, underlayment, starter, ventilation and hip and ridge. You get a real start date.
Old roof off, deck repaired where needed, ice and water barrier and underlayment down, then shingles installed to Owens Corning specification. Most homes take one to three days.
Magnet sweep of the property, a walkthrough with you, and your Owens Corning warranty registered in your name.
Crews run out of Green Meadows Drive, which puts most of Delaware and Franklin counties inside a half-hour drive. If you're on the edge of the ring, call — we go further for steel jobs than we do for a gutter repair.
Don't see your town? Delaware and Franklin counties are our core, but we take steel projects across the surrounding counties too.
Check My AddressMap is schematic: city positions and radius rings are drawn to scale, county outlines are simplified blocks for orientation.

What Central Ohio homeowners actually ask before replacing an asphalt roof.
Plan on 18 to 25 years for an architectural shingle here. Freeze-thaw cycling and summer heat are harder on asphalt than a mild climate. Ventilation matters more than most people realise — an under-ventilated attic cooks the shingles from underneath and takes years off the roof.
All three carry a limited lifetime warranty and the same dimensions. Oakridge is the value line at 110/130 mph wind resistance with six colours. Duration adds SureNail Technology, Class 3 impact resistance, up to 160 mph wind resistance and fifteen colours. Duration FLEX is Duration plus a polymer-modified mat for Class 4 impact resistance, in nine colours.
No. Owens Corning states up to 160 mph when their component requirements are met and starter shingles are installed on both the eaves and the rakes. That is why we quote the full system rather than a shingle count — the warranty depends on the accessories as much as the shingle.
Many Ohio carriers offer an impact-resistant roof discount, and Duration FLEX carries the highest UL 2218 rating available. The amount varies by carrier and policy, so ask your agent what yours allows before you decide. We will supply the manufacturer documentation they ask for.
Ohio code allows a second layer in specific conditions, and it is cheaper. We usually recommend against it: you cannot inspect or repair the deck, the new shingles run hotter, and a layover can complicate a future insurance claim. We will tell you which applies to your roof after the inspection.
Owens Corning vets licensing, insurance and workmanship before granting Preferred status, and it lets us register your warranty in your name rather than leaving you to file it yourself. It is a manufacturer credential, not a government licence — we hold Ohio HIC #L01251 separately.
Yes, with care. Asphalt shingles need warmth to seal, so in cold weather we hand-seal where the manufacturer requires it and we watch the forecast for install days. If conditions are genuinely wrong we will tell you to wait rather than risk the roof.
Free inspection, written estimate, and an honest read on whether your roof needs replacing yet — or whether it has a few years left.
